The Mighty Creatives
Vcreate are currently working as project management in partnership with The Mighty Creatives (TMC), Arts Connect and UK Young Artists to deliver Emerge, a regional programme of one-day festivals led by young people in the heart of local communities. The festivals are directed by Vcreate, in partnership with schools and community organisations. Emerge will deliver 24 children and young people-led arts festivals in 12 Midlands locations. Each festival will celebrate the life and work of William Shakespeare, with an emphasis on language and storytelling using a range of different disciplines from performance to visual art.

From May 2015 – April 2017 Vanessa worked as Associate Director for People Dancing. Here she worked with the Executive Director and team of Producers and Managers on the leadership of the next phase of the organisation’s programme development and delivery, and forward planning. The emphasis of the role was to ensure that quality dance practice continues to sit at the heart of People Dancing’s work.
Vanessa is also worked as a consultant for 11 Million Reasons to Dance, a 2 years strategic touring programme. The programme focused on working with artists, venues and cultural partners across the country to create a unique model to positively profile Deaf and disabled people who dance, want to dance or engage in dance. The project focused on performance, participation, development and training opportunities to six locations across the Midlands and North of England, all aimed at engaging Deaf and disabled people in areas of low engagement with the arts.

Rosie Kay Dance Company
In 2015 and 2017 Vanessa worked as freelance Community and Engagement Manager for Rosie Kay Dance Company 5 Soldiers UK tour, implementing a community and engagement strategy across across military bases. As part of her role she supported a team of dance artists and managed relationships with military, venues and cultural arts agencies.
